Handmade Holiday: From the Kitchen

I was talking with two friends the other day (at a Mama’s Craft Day, isn’t that nice?) about holiday gift ideas.

I had to stop and recollect for a minute, because I really haven’t made anything in the last few weeks, and wasn’t sure, exactly, of what I had for our family Baskets that we’re giving this year.

I found everything, thank goodness.   :)

The first thing we made this year was Mirabelle Brandy.

5

We used our little yellow plums from our tree for this one… I’m so excited to try it out!

While we’re on the subject, we also brandied a few pears from our tree.

4

We made Raspberry Jam (from our very own raspberries) and Peach Jam – we may part with a couple of jars of this goodliness – provided we can get Madeleine’s permission.

6

We have Spiced Honey ready for a cup of Chai or Orange tea.3

We have Praline Syrup – which only wants a few baked apples to pour over.2

And we have Lotion Bars.1

Other things we’re thinking to tuck into the baskets are lip balm, flannel shawls (from Lisa at 5OrangePotatoes), fresh and homemade loaves of bread, cocoa or hot chocolate mix (if we can perfect the recipe in time)…

We’ll keep our hearts and mind open for other treasures.

Happy Making.
